Hello from Moscow, Russia!
« on: December 05, 2016, 04:02:15 PM »
Hello!
My name is Alex, I'm 32 years old. I live in Moscow, I drive motorcycle for more than ten years.
My first acquaintance with Gymkhana was in August 2013, it was located at "Signalny proezd 17" and it was a small court (about 20x40m) with one tortuous track on it.
A little bit later, a small simple track was added for beginners. This court was held every Wednesday and had attracted 20-25 people.
That's how it was.

In September 2013, we had closed that court and I began to hold Gymkhana on another place - "Yaroslavskoe shosse 54", it was twice larger than the previous one - 35x60m for main court, plus 15x20m for beginners court. It was also held every Wensday and there were 30-50 bikes at the peak time.

Season 2014 was marked by a large number of visitors and we had opened two more courts - near "Timiryazevskaya" subway station and on "Lipetskaya" street. The feature of "Lipetskaya" place was the point-style track - like a Japanese Gymkhana. They were hold every Wednsday and Friday for Timiryazevskaya and every Sunday for Lipetskaya in addition to Yaroslavskoe every Wednsday - of course, when there is no rain.

In the season 2015 we had closed the Lipetskaya place because of expandation of the local carwash, and my friends went to Yaroslavskaya, and I began to hold Gymkhana at the new place - "Leningradskoe shosse 73" on every Sunday. It is the biggest place - 70x55m for main court, 20x40m for beginners court and simple figures, and 30x55m for children court, and it works the most long time - from 17:00 to 22:00.
FIVE HOURS OF FREE TRAINING EVERY SUNDAY!!!

In the season 2016 the Timiryazevskaya place became a paid parking(((((. A large area near Third Circle Way with exellent asphalt and without road markings became nothing - people don't want to park their cars there. Therefore, at that moment new road junction was opened at Ryabinovaya street, and there was very good asphalt under the bridge, so we replaced Timiryazevskaya with this new place.

SO What about sports competitions?!
Yes, yes, yes!!!
Our regular Gymkhana events attract more than 1000 new people every season and make dozens of hi-class sportsmen.
We hold amature Slalom Test with simple, but large point-style track. Three winners in every class (roadsters below 700, roadsters above 700, enduro and motard, cruisers and tourers) are banned in the next Slalom Test. We use hand-made timer with IR-laser, based on Arduino kit.

And we hold our big Sports Competition named G-RSBK together with Rissian Superbike competitions.

KILLER POST!!!

Welcome!

There isn't much movement here, since it is very cold and our main organizer has left us.  But we will get it going again.  Please post as often as possible.  What a great thread!  I am going to link our whole Facebook group to it.  Thank you for finding us!

KILLER POST!!!

I'm glad that you like us.
Season of Moto Gymkhana in Moscow isn't open, because the weather is too cold (up to +10deg. C at day, but -3...+3deg. C at night)
But new G-stuff is ready!

75mm stickers

And many others!

Hoodies

Keychains

Bracelets

Steel-style stickers

If we were a tenth as energetic and cool as you are, we'd have a thousand people at our next gymkhana.  And the photo quality in your posts is OUTSTANDING.  Thank you for contributing!!

Ride on!

Excellent swag!  And you put so many bikes on the lot at one time... do you ever have trouble with riders running into each other?  And women!  You have lady riders!

If I sent you some money, could I get some of the Fuck Therapy stickers, and some of the BMW ones?  I ride a 2011 F800R.   You could PM me your address.... can you use dollars, or do I need to do a currency conversion?  (If you even sell them.)

I wish you guys could come here and show us how it's done!  Do you know Duncan MacKillop?  Look for him on Facebook, if you don't.

We are having a full gymkhana, including a stopping time test, on June 10, but I have a conflict and cannot attend.  I hope it goes half as well as yours.

Thanks again for the GREAT pictures.

Here is a video from Apr. 30 .

You can see that we have no trouble with riders running into each other because road traffic in Moscow is very stressful.

Yes, every fifth Gymkhana rider is a lady.

Kris, where are your photos?

Our pictures were on BamaRides.com, which crashed and we didn't have a backup.  So we lost almost everything we had up from our past gymkhanas.  I have trouble getting our members to remember to go onto this site and post pictures.  We haven't had but maybe one gymkhana event since we rebuilt the site and started over.

http://bamarides.com/ride/index.php?topic=1771.0;topicseen

Above is the link to the June 10th event we are planning.   I trust there will be plenty of pictures from that event.  They won't be as good as yours because WE are not as good as you guys are.  Most of us are out of practice.  And I won't be any better, because I have to ride to a meeting that day in another part of the state.  : (

How many riders do you have at your events?  They look fantastic.  I can't see the video link because my workstation says the site isn't secure.  I will try to look at it tonight when I get home.

I am so happy that you post on this website!!  Keep doing what you are doing!

I'm about to make you famous again on our Facebook page.
I had to laugh when you said it didn't bother you to have so many riders on the courses at the same time because Moscow traffic is very stressful.  Is that because it is crowded?  Or because everyone drives fast?  Or because drivers ignore the rules?

Is it warm there now?
