JAGE is the governing body of Moto Gymkhana in Japan. It stands for Japan Autoby Gymkhana Edifice, Autoby being the Japanese motorcycle magazine that has sponsored and followed the series since it first began over 20 years ago. The Moto Gymkhana Association is directly affiliated to JAGE and promotes all the rules, regulations, systems, methods and procedures that have been designed and formalised by JAGE

There are several competition series as well as the JAGE cup such as the Dunlop Autoby cup which is the big one, right through to smaller regional competitions.

If your Japanes is up to scratch, here is a link to their website. http://jage.jpn.org/

So I'm guessing that in the grand scheme of international Motogymkhana, Jage is the top of the heap? Do they establish policy and set the rules for the rest of us to follow?

I will let Duncan speak for his organization, but we do not follow any other policy.  AMGRASS is a good bit different than other gymkhana organizations in that we emphasize skill-building rather than competition, that is as far as I can see(I have never participated in any other events but our own).

It also appears there are a few more differences:
-membership based, club-like activities, while our events are open to the public and free(after signing a waiver)
-limited number of runs at timed events VS. most of our timed events are unlimited (except for closing time, which usually there are only a few riders still on the course)
- we offer free coaching at EVERY event, not sure about others?

Similarities:
-color-code cones (JAGE) just in case we ever compete :)
-timed runs
-we share course layouts(you can never have too many)
-we like videos, riding quickly around cones, and trying to improve our riding.

What did I leave out?

Duncan may have better background info on other outfits also, I believe he is writing the book:)
Learn to ride better before your riding days are cut short.

Don, thanks again for the information in your reply from earlier today.  That's kind of what I expected, but it's nice to have that confirmed.
